Family Foundation - New York City

The purpose of sharing this information is the journey. For a long time I felt like I was running from New York city and what I realize today was Jesus was with me all along. Jesus is with me now and empowering me to love and appreciate the city that made me.

Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Whats even more special is I know that God has a special plan for my life. Im going to share moments from this special place that for the first 25 years of my life I have called home.

Answered Prayer 1 : Lord please provide a yankee cap so that I can represent my city.

I respect his work ethic and story. I pray that the Lord will fill him with the Holy Spirit to continue lead his family to Heaven.

Tyshawn Jones if you ever read this. God is with you! Jesus lives inside of you. Keep going. May God use that skateboard to continue to transform the lives of the people around you.

Friends who became brothers who are living legends.

This is my old boss Seth. Who opened doors for me. Seth thanks so much for being a friend, mentor and brother. Thanks for the love for when I made the transition from sales to being a Pastor. May God continue to bless your family.

Lessons Learned

1. There is no place like going home to see the family

2. Family is everything always we need that checkin to remind ourselves.

3. New York Is Beautiful don't run away from the city that made you

4. Jesus will use you to love those people that grew with you. Just love.

5. Walk in faith and Jesus will handle the rest.

6. God placed many good people in your life even before you left New York for Ministry

7. Always come home. Always be grateful for your story and journey.

The reason why this trip is so special for me is because the transition 5 years ago has not been easy. From city life chasing a dream to surrendering to the calling God has for my life and entering into the ministry. It was a new start. Many times I felt like I wasn't good enough or ashamed of my past life. The Gospel is that I am a new creation in Jesus Christ. I was afraid to come back and not live up to the standard that a Pastor is supposed to be. Or to come back and make a mistake in front of one of my old friends and have someone say "your not a Pastor". The Gospel is all about surrendering it all to Jesus daily. All of our hopes, dreams and fears. Romans 12:2 English Standard Version Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. This is the Gospel that Jesus recreates us brand new everyday. New start everyday. Everyday we are forgiven. Everyday we are loved by God. Jesus is calling us to embrace that love and faithfully walk in that love.

Jesus gave me something to live for other than myself. To think and love and care about others. This is my victory in Jesus. The realization that it's not about me. It's about every aspect of my life to love others, serve others and bringing Glory to God.

God called me to preach This GOSPEL of victory in Jesus. So now when I see these old friends. I feel blessed for the opportunity to be in the moment with them and share Jesus. To not look at their faults and mistakes but to see greatness in them. To see the love of God in them and through them. To share Jesus out of love and faith knowing that Jesus is inside of us now by the power of His Holy Spirit.

Thank you Jesus for this opportunity to come back home. Thank you Jesus for family and friends. I know that these moments and experiences will help me to share Jesus better.
